Hi I'm Jordan, I'm one of the founders of Sick. I gave up riding for a few years so I could grow up, that in hindsight was a mistake. Reckless.
If you could share a band or artist with anyone who would it be and what song would you start it off with and why?
Everyone should listen to the Clash at least once. Start with Guns of brixton.
What is the most important thing about sick to you?
I think to me, it proved without investment, without connections, with nothing but a good idea, you can, if you stick to your guns, live out your dream.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Probably that the Devil Wears Prada is my favorite film. Close second is I really like Dolly Parton.
Name one thing you like, you think people would be surprised to know?
I dont drink, I dont smoke, I dont take drugs. In any way shape or form. I have been Drug free for around a decade and sober in all respects since 2012.
If you could give advice to someone starting up their own business what would it be?
Only listen to people with the authority to tell you to do something, Only listen to successful people who understand your vision, don't be sidetracked by those who would hold you back, some people just like to talk. Don't be saddened by people who dont believe. This is your goal not theirs. Finally. If youare the best at something expect to feel like everyone around you doesn't try hard enough. Feel out peoples strengths and weaknesses and use their gifts.
You get to trade your job at sick for any job, what would it be? You HAVE to trade it!
Fast jet test pilot. No hesitation.
What is your vision for the business?
I would like the busines to grow to be large enought that we could focus just on development of products for the customer. Thats someone else could worry about the finance and logistics and we could develop and ride. Go out, lead test days. Hang out. Discover innovation.
What has been your highlight so far?
It was incredibly surreal to be in the press so much. It comes to the point where you cna show your parents the magazine and say, 'Seee!' - Probably the high point was the Cranked interview with Seb. He had a crystal clear idea of what we wanted to be.
Who is the nicest person you have met in the industry?
Rich from Cotic. Everything is an oppertunity for fun and sucess.
What surprised you about the bike industry?
Regardless of the size of the brand, they, essentially, just love bikes. Any last words? Sick isnt just us, its as much the community around it. as that grows, I think its been one of the most fulfilling things in my life.
